Sandra J. Baldauf-Boda Executive Officer

Since becoming EO in 2001, I have been active in both the State and National Associations. I was GEOC (Georgia Executive Officer Council) President from September 1, 2005 until August 31, 2006. I was honored to be named the Georgia Executive Officer of the Year in 2005. In 2005-2006 I served on the Executive Committee of the NAHB EOC (Executive Officer Council); on the EOC Seminar committee and as Chair of the EOC Seminar Sponsorship Committee raised a record breaking $198,500 for the August 2006 Educational Seminar. In February 2007 I was elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the EOC in the capacity of Region B Director acting as liaison between the Executive Officers in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Puerto Rico and the National Association of Home Builders. Other NAHB EOC Committees I have served on include Professional Development and Professional Policy Development. At the conclusion of the Executive Officer Seminar held in Santa Fe, August 2010 I  achieved the 300 hour Educational level and was recognized at the NAHB Winter Board meeting in Orlando January, 2011.

I am a member of Christ our Shepherd Lutheran Church and have participated in the Chamber of Commerce in each of the ten counties that comprise Midwest Georgia's' jurisdiction. I served on the Board of Directors of the Fayette Youth Protection Home in the early 90's and am a 1993 graduate of Leadership Fayette. I am member of ASAE (American Society of Association Executives).

I live in Tyrone with my husband Steve. Steve and I are hopeless beach bums and spend as much time at the beach as possible. We are hoping to built our retirement home on our mountain top property in Hayesville, North Carolina within the next couple of years.

We have three grown children:  Julie (Tony) Nichols lives in Newnan; parents of our two granddaughters Ashley Nichols age 15 and Alexis Nichols age 12; son Michael (Lisa) Baldauf lives in Stockbridge with grandsons Christian Baldauf age 4 and Ethan Baldauf age 1. Last, but certainly not least is our son Stephen (Whitney) Boda. Stephen, a Captain in the Army National Guard, is a Blackhawk helicopter pilot and certified MP. He is currently deployed to Taji, Iraq and is Company Commander with Alpha Company, 1-171 Aviation. We will welcome him home in November 2011.

I was born and raised in Southern California. I attended El Camino College many years ago and majored in Journalism and Business Administration. Among other things, I worked in the mortgage lending industry for 15 years. I began working for the HBA of Midwest Georgia in May 2004. I took several months off in 2010 & 2011, but have recently returned to the HBA on a part time basis.  It's good to be back.

In November 1998 my husband, Allen, was transferred to Georgia with Western/Delta Airlines. I joined him in March, 1999. He retired in February, 2005 after 35 years with the airlines. I attend The Church of Saint Gabriel's in Fayetteville..

My daughter, Kristy, and her husband, Pete, live in Hampton Georgia with my three energetic and adorable grandsons, Dylan, age 9, Luke, age 5 and Connor age 4.

I have two older brothers who still live in Southern California. Mike is a chemist who works in the aerospace industry and Ken is a sales supervisor with Budweiser. My father is deceased and my mother lives in Fayetteville after moving here from Sedona, Arizona in 2000.

My hobbies are scrapbooking and photography; My most important scrapbooking project will cover the life of my late husband, Allen, who passed away from Leukemia (CLL) in January 2007. Since Luke was only 14 months old and Connor was born after he died, I plan to give the scrapbook to my grandsons in honor of their grandfather (Pa). Since my husband died at such a young age, I realize that my main focus is to cherish every day, enjoy my life to the fullest and to be a cool Nana.   When  not working, I enjoy reading, fitness related activities, gardening and most of all, scrapbooking our family history to be passed on to my grandchildren and their children!
